Losing Weight Is More Than What You Eat or Drink

To achieve successful, long-term weight loss, you need to identify how your relationship with food affects your choices and emotions. Here are a few questions you can ask yourself and strategies you can employ to assist in tapping into your emotions:

  1. Spend a week writing down everything you eat and the way you feel when you eat it, before and after. This will help you identify any patterns associated with food. Perhaps you are eating when you are stressed or bored?
  2. Are there any foods that make you feel healthy and energised? Does a green smoothie followed by a cup of Zing Boost Tea get your motor running?
  3. Before you make yourself that snack, ask yourself if you’re really hungry or if you’re eating for another reason. Rate your hunger out of ten and if it’s below a 7, then go for a brisk walk and come back to your snack later.
  4. If you know you’re coming up to a stressful time, book in a catch up with a friend to talk about it rather than turn to food.
